The Drama Program

Making its debut in 2016, our theatre program has given students the chance to shine on stage in front of peers, family and the community. Students learn about a variety of topics within the realm of theatre, including set design, stage combat, playwriting, improvisation, as well as acting and musical theatre.  Students who choose to audition for the annual musical rehearse and perform in a fully-produced show during after-school hours.

We strive to offer our students exposure to the world of professional theatre, and we invite them to join us on a field trip to see at least one Broadway show per year free of cost.

After completing 100 hours of participation in our program as a cast or crew member, students have the opportunity to join the International Junior Thespian Honor Society.

Many of our students have been inspired to audition for arts-focused high schools. We work to prepare our students for their auditions, and they have been accepted to schools such as Brooklyn High School of the Arts, Talent Unlimited, and LaGuardia High School!

WHAT OUR ARTISTS SAY

"The things that I did in the theater program in middle school are things that helped me become a better actor, but also helped me in my life."
